Solaris in Toruń

Four modern, low-floor Solaris Urbino buses will join the bus fleet of the Municipal Transport Company (MZK) in Toruń.

Solaris in Toruń

Toruń is a new customer on the list of the domestic market leader in bus manufacturing. The city will acquire 3 comfortable and eco-friendly Solaris Urbino 12 city buses powered by compressed natural gas (CNG) and one articulated, eighteen-meter Solaris Urbino 18 city bus with a traditional diesel engine. These will be the first vehicles, popularly known as “dachshunds,” in the MZK Toruń fleet. The green dachshund is the symbol of Solaris buses produced in Bolechowo near Poznań. Buses powered by compressed natural gas are environmentally friendly. The Solaris Urbino 12 units will meet the strict EEV emission standard, while the Solaris Urbino 18 will meet the EURO 5 standard currently in force in European Union countries. The comfort of traveling in low-floor buses will certainly be appreciated by all passengers, especially the elderly and those using wheelchairs. The safety level of passengers will be significantly increased by a video monitoring system consisting of 4 cameras (5 in the case of the eighteen-meter vehicle) and an automatic fire extinguishing system, which will be installed in the engine compartment of the ordered buses.

– I am glad that the residents of another city in Poland will be able to see the advantages of our buses for themselves. I can promise that we will not disappoint the trust placed in us – assures Solange Olszewska, President of the Board.
