In 2010, Wizz Air’s transport capacity will increase by 30%.

In 2009, Wizz Air carried 3.6 million passengers on its routes to and from Poland. In 2010, this number will rise to 4.7 million. Wizz Air’s fleet in Poland will consist of 14 Airbus A320 aircraft. The carrier had previously announced its development plans in Gdańsk and Warsaw, as well as the launch of an operational base in Wrocław. Now, the airline is announcing the addition of another aircraft to its Katowice base in March 2010 and the opening of new routes. Also in March 2010, Wizz Air will begin operations from Łódź. This will be the sixth airport in Poland from which the airline will offer flights. In the coming months, the carrier will launch a total of 22 new connections and resume flights on summer routes. Next summer, Wizz Air’s Polish network will consist of 86 connections. New routes will appear, including from Katowice to Madrid, from Łódź to Dortmund, from Gdańsk to Eindhoven, from Wrocław to Dortmund, from Poznań to Paris, from Warsaw to Barcelona, and many others. Ticket prices for the new routes start from as little as 80 PLN. Flight bookings can be made at wizzair.com or via the call center.

– Wizz Air will overtake the national carrier in terms of the number of passengers carried and will become the largest airline in Poland in 2010. Moreover, Wizz Air’s development will contribute to the creation of 1,500 new jobs in Poland – said József Váradi, CEO of Wizz Air.
