WOSANA SA is a manufacturer of juices, beverages, and spring waters. Its offer includes the sale of its own products as well as the production of beverages under private labels for clients. The company cooperates with most nationwide retail chains and carries out export contracts. Until now, WOSANA SA employees used internal labels for product marking, which were not compliant with GS1 standards and, consequently, were not adapted to the requirements of all contractors. For efficient operation and smooth cooperation with partners, it was necessary to use labels compliant with the GS1 system. After conducting a market analysis, the offer from SKK-Systemy Kodów Kreskowych was selected for the implementation of the system for printing logistics labels compliant with the GS1 standard. As part of the cooperation, SKK proposed that Wosana implement a system consisting of the following elements: Nice Label software, a Denso portable terminal, and a Datamax label printer. Nice Label is software used for designing and printing labels. All Nice Label programs have a clear and user-friendly interface and a whole range of modern tools that make label design easy and fast. The programs have a Polish language version. The DENSO BHT-400 terminal is dedicated specifically to order picking tasks in industrial conditions. Resistance to water and dust, as well as high mechanical durability, ensure trouble-free operation in difficult conditions. Additionally, the terminal is equipped with a large, color touchscreen with backlighting, and the 240×320 pixel resolution ensures the readability of text and graphics even in low light. The DATAMAX H-CLASS label printer belongs to the most advanced line of printers. It is a reliable device designed for work in production conditions where fast printing and trouble-free operation 24/7 are required. The advantages of the printer also include a large programmable display, which facilitates configuration and improves work comfort. Additionally, the device has a built-in barcode scanner, which enables verification of the printed code’s correctness. The greatest benefit that WOSANA SA gained after implementing the system proposed by SKK was meeting the requirements of recipients and applying an automatic and ergonomic solution that did not increase employment costs. At the same time, WOSANA SA joined the group of companies operating in accordance with GS1 standards.
