Secure and eco-friendly e-invoicing with DB Schenker

Logistics operator DB Schenker has introduced the electronic invoice – an innovative solution on the TSL market that ensures convenience and security for customers while minimizing the negative impact on the environment.

DB Schenker is consistently implementing new solutions that set standards in the TSL market and aim to minimize the negative impact on the natural environment. Since October 2009, the logistics operator has introduced the electronic invoice, the use of which provides many benefits to the company’s customers.

– For years, we have consistently pursued a sustainable development policy that includes economy, ethics, and ecology. These three elements form the basis of the solutions and amenities we implement for our customers – says Przemysław Głębocki, IT and Process Improvement Director at Schenker Sp. z o.o. – The e-invoice is a secure and eco-friendly solution that facilitates the integration of business processes between the customer and the logistics operator. The e-invoice accelerates the exchange of information and is simultaneously a very visible manifestation of our implemented Green IT policy.

The e-invoice is a modern version of the paper invoice. Both have the same legal value and are accepted by tax offices and other tax authorities.

– The e-invoice contains the same data as the paper version, but thanks to the capabilities of the Internet, it is available immediately after its preparation, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week – explains Mariusz Kozłowski, Development Project Manager at Schenker Sp. z o.o. – A particular advantage of the e-invoice is the fact that it is an ecological solution. No specialized software is needed to receive and read the e-invoice. A web browser is sufficient.

The e-invoice is a secure solution because the data is doubly protected. It is stored in a secure archive in an encrypted form, and its access takes place through encrypted communication channels – identical to those used in online banking.

– Every electronic invoice is signed with an electronic signature verified by a so-called qualified certificate. Thanks to this, the recipient of the invoice can verify that the invoice comes from the correct source and is certain that its content has not been modified since the moment of issuance – adds Mariusz Kozłowski, Development Project Manager at Schenker Sp. z o.o.
