Kuehne + Nagel has been selected by the spare parts and accessories division of the automotive company Valeo Service to manage and handle road transport shipments from European suppliers to national distribution platforms located in France, the United Kingdom, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Spain, and Turkey.
The implemented solution proposed by Kuehne + Nagel is specifically tailored to the needs of Valeo Service. It will be based on 43 delivery cycles that will collect components from suppliers and consolidate them before shipping to Valeo Service distribution platforms.
This new service will connect over 105 internal and external Valeo Service suppliers located in France, Italy, and Spain, as well as in 7 other Western European countries. In total, the connection will cover 283 routes.
The entire system is centrally monitored from the Kuehne + Nagel headquarters in Orléans, France, and records active cargo flows from suppliers, continuing to optimize delivery cycles. These are based on the Logista Transport system, developed by Kuehne + Nagel, and an e-booking application made available to all suppliers, enabling direct online registration of transport orders.
Providing such a customized, extensive, and flexible logistics solution was the main challenge for Kuehne + Nagel. The primary benefit for Valeo Service is regular deliveries with a guaranteed lead time, despite the relatively high level of variation in daily cargo flows. This is possible thanks to increased consolidation capabilities and the collection of information on the frequency of pickups from individual suppliers.
