Rohlig Suus Logistics (formerly Rohlig Poland), one of the leading logistics operators, is developing rail freight as a complement to its existing sea, road, and air transport services. Rail transport of goods provides cost reductions and also guarantees the optimization of the logistics process in terms of delivery time.
As part of its rail transport services, Rohlig Suus Logistics provides an organized customs clearance service, enabling shorter delivery times, as well as all types of loading and transshipment services, including professional securing of cargo in broad-gauge wagons. Additionally, the company offers a wide range of warehousing services, cargo insurance, and shipment monitoring throughout the entire transport route.
– Rail transport is a complement to our comprehensive logistics offer. As part of our rail-related services, we carry out domestic and international transport for both imports and exports. We mainly undertake orders in Eastern Europe and Asia, as well as handling shipments transported from West to East, leveraging Poland’s geographical location. Expanding our offer with a rail product and launching a dedicated department for freight handling gives us the opportunity to regularly take on intermodal orders, which until now were only fulfilled in response to current customer demand. These are an important element of the cargo projects that we permanently introduced to our portfolio a few years ago – says Piotr Dryglas, Director of Sea, Air, and Rail Freight.
Rail is an excellent alternative to road transport, especially where transport infrastructure is not sufficiently developed. Rail freight is an optimal solution for companies that want to organize the transport of a large quantity of goods to geographically distant locations at once, such as Asian countries.
– Rail transport is not only an excellent complement to land transport but also to sea or air transport. Thanks to rail forwarding, the client achieves measurable results in the form of time savings and cost reductions. Furthermore, rail is an environmentally friendly means of transport, which is of particular importance nowadays – says Iwetta Drewko-Bieńkowska, Director of Rail Freight at Rohlig Suus Logistics.
In May 2009, Rohlig Suus Logistics announced a new development strategy, assuming the expansion of its distribution system in Central and Eastern Europe and the expansion of road freight and logistics services in developing countries such as Romania, Russia, Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Mongolia. Thanks to its cooperation with the Rohlig&CO group, the company plans to increase the number of shipments from the Far East.
