Since July 19, 2009, qualified certificates used for electronic signatures can be renewed online.
The development of modern technologies makes life easier for electronic signature users. On July 19, 2009, Unizeto Technologies launched a new system enabling the renewal of qualified certificates from any computer connected to the Internet. Thanks to this, CERTUM – Universal Certification Center clients can handle all formalities related to qualified certificates without leaving their office, home, or even while traveling domestically or abroad. Qualified certificates, in accordance with applicable law, are issued for a specific period, i.e., for 12 or 24 months. In this context, the implemented solution is a significant convenience for all electronic signature users. Previously, renewing a qualified certificate involved visiting a representative office of a given certification center to complete the necessary formalities. Renewing a qualified certificate used, among other things, for settlements with the Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) ensures the extension of its validity period for another 12 or 24 months.
