Every entrepreneur or other entity performing the transport of dangerous goods or related loading or unloading is required to conduct internal supervision of the activities performed by appointing a safety adviser for the transport of dangerous goods. Regulations regarding road transport change every two years, always in odd-numbered years; therefore, another amendment to the ADR regulations came into force on January 1, 2009, and the regulation implementing the GHS system in European Union countries (including Poland) was adopted by the European Parliament and the Council on December 16, 2008. The purpose of GHS is to identify and communicate information about hazards posed by chemical substances and mixtures. Hazard classification criteria have been harmonized. Hazard statements, hazard symbols, and signal words have also been standardized to create an integrated hazard communication system. GHS will allow for the harmonization of elements of the hazard communication system contained in various systems existing to date. During the training, the most important changes to ADR regulations regarding safety instructions for drivers, the so-called Trem Card, and new markings for shipments and vehicles will also be discussed. Topics related to the transport of waste will also be covered to minimize the risks they pose to people and the environment.
The training is addressed to: transport companies involved in the transport of dangerous goods, their loading or unloading (both management staff and warehouse workers, packers, those performing loading and unloading), OHS services of workplaces where ADR transport is carried out, waste management plants, municipal utility companies, companies managing chemicals, and DGSA advisers.
The lecturer will be Ms. Monika Malicka – a DGSA adviser, practitioner, long-time academic teacher, analytical chemist, who has been running a Waste Disposal Plant specializing in chemicals for over 10 years.
Applications are accepted until April 10, 2009; the number of places is limited, and the order of applications decides.
