Organizing an expedition in the 21st century is primarily about the ability to prepare individual phases of the venture during the preparatory period. The use of logistics tools, in the appropriate configuration and quantity, based on reliable information and proven, experienced staff, will minimize the risk of failure and streamline project management in the areas of: planning; organizing; controlling and motivating; monitoring. An expedition, regardless of its nature (sports, scientific-research, tourist, rescue), is a logistical challenge in terms of: meeting customer requirements (satisfaction) or beneficiaries (for example, humanitarian aid, rescue operation); implementation costs; implementation time.
