An analysis of global development trends observed in the field of mechanical engineering of granular materials clearly shows that there is a rapidly growing interest in pneumatic technologies, also referred to as “dry” technologies.
This statement mainly concerns issues related to the pneumatic handling and transport of granular materials with specific physico-mechanical properties and a strong tendency to generate dust. On the other hand, the development of new, efficient technologies for pneumatic handling and short-distance transport of granular materials is significantly dependent on progress in the mechanics of air-jet processes and, by necessity, is linked to the need to conduct advanced experimental research in this area.
