The acquisition of Tank by Dachser aims to expand the scope of operations in the transport of frozen goods. Until now, Dachser Food Logistics (a division specializing in food product transport) with a nationwide transport network, operated mainly in southern Germany. In turn, Tank’s branches are primarily located in northern Germany: Hohenwestedt, Hamburg, Hanover, Bremen, and Zeven. As a result of the merger of both companies, the reach of Dachser’s services will be extended to new regions, which in turn will directly translate into an increase in the quality of services provided. This will be felt mainly by the customers of Tank, whose name will not be changed, but which will be able to draw on the experience and logistics solutions of a larger partner.
It is worth emphasizing that, apart from their activity in the frozen products industry, both companies are connected by two more elements: the year of establishment – 1930, and the fact that both are family businesses whose tradition is cultivated from generation to generation.
