Production logistics in a company manufacturing short shelf-life products

The emergence of production logistics problems and their dependence on market conditions is particularly visible in companies manufacturing products with a short shelf life.

A good illustration here can be companies in the bakery industry, where raw materials, semi-finished products, and especially finished goods are characterized by a short shelf life due to the biochemical, microbiological, and physical processes occurring within them. The quality of bread at the time of its consumption by the customer depends on strict adherence to technology and the organization of the production flow, as well as on raw material supply and distribution. The production process of bakery products in individual plants is similar. The differences primarily concern the share of manual labor, equipment efficiency, or the product assortment structure.
