The article by Cees J. Tilburgs titled “Racks for properly operated trucks” – part 1 – Logistyka no. 1/2001, part 2 – Logistyka no. 4/2001 addresses very important issues regarding
methods of increasing safety in warehouses from the perspective of the operation of the racks installed in them.
It focuses mainly on the issue of selecting appropriate safety factors and additional load values used in static calculations, as well as on the mechanical protection of elements exposed to impacts by trucks or load units. The author also discusses the need to apply an additional safety factor in calculations, taking into account the intensity of warehouse operations.
