Working in the logistics industry

Logistics is one of the most dynamically developing industries in Poland.
In 2007, there were as many as 6,960 job offers in this sector. In 2006, there were 3,936 in total, which means an almost two-fold increase. Considering future development prospects, it can be expected that this trend will continue this year as well; unless the Polish labor market opens up to immigrants from Russia and Ukraine.

More and more warehouses and logistics centers are being built in Poland, and e-commerce, which uses TSL services, is also developing dynamically. The growing number of online stores and the increasing number of consumers shopping online will result in the creation of new jobs in courier and freight forwarding companies. The development of the transport and logistics industry will also be supported by the use of European funds for improving road infrastructure, preparations for Euro 2012, and the consistently high interest of investors in our country.

In the TSL industry, the most sought-after positions are warehouse workers, drivers, and logistics specialists. However, the greatest challenges lie ahead for those with higher education in economics and technology, whose knowledge and skills allow them to work on implementing new solutions concerning the entire supply chain. Specialists combining knowledge of logistics with an IT background should not complain about a lack of job offers either, as the TSL industry is increasingly dependent on the efficient functioning of IT systems.
