Specialized software for sales forecasting, inventory level management, production planning, supply chain management, and other enterprise operations is becoming increasingly common in Polish companies. While these are still primarily complex applications implemented centrally by international corporations, the program presented in this article proves that tools cost-effectively and structurally tailored to the needs of smaller Polish enterprises are becoming more widely available.
The SOPlan planning suite, discussed here, is in some respects significantly simplified compared to “large” APS (Advanced Planning Systems) class systems. However, it is precisely these well-thought-out simplifications and appropriately designed additional features and tools that are intended to ensure its fit for the needs of medium-sized enterprises. Such software design ensures quick and inexpensive implementation as well as low operating costs.
