One of the solutions presented at the Progilog IT trade fair in Paris was an order forecasting program – Walter’S from the French company BS&K (http://www.bskwalters.com/). I would like to present this solution to the readers of “Logistyka” magazine due to its technical advantages and the fact that it has been translated into Polish and has been offered to Polish clients for some time. Every enterprise that has to solve order and inventory problems on a daily basis, regardless of whether it concerns production or distribution, needs tools to perform tasks that ERP systems available on the market cannot effectively facilitate. Specialized software, on the other hand, can perform these tasks in a way that is very easy for the user. Walter’S is a decision support program aimed primarily at people who manage inventory and procurement, both in the distribution and production sectors.
Before I move on to describing the individual features of the program, a few remarks on the basic assumptions that guided its creators and the goals they intended to achieve.
Goal
Walter’S aims to ensure high-quality service at all stages of the distribution and production chain. This means that Walter’S strives to ensure constant product availability while simultaneously minimizing the amount of capital tied up in inventory and work-in-progress.
