– Above all, a fence should have an appropriate structure so that a thief is unable, or at least has great difficulty, in getting through it. Taking into account various fencing materials, the best solution seems to be a solid fencing mesh: for aesthetic, economic, and protective reasons, and as it turns out, also for health reasons – explains Joanna Dec-Galuk, a specialist from the company Betafence.
The law states that a fence should have gaps amounting to 25% of the openwork surface, and in terms of safety, it is best to be able to observe the surroundings from behind the fence, for example, to see if someone is standing at the gate. In the case of the Pantanet mesh from Betafence, all the mentioned elements are preserved. The mesh is strong and durable because it is made of
strong galvanized wire that has undergone a powder coating process and high-temperature welding into a nice grid. It is difficult for an unauthorized person to break through it, and it is even difficult to rest a foot on it, as the mesh opening is 5 x 5 cm. Such mesh can be easily installed by yourself on Bekaclip posts. The fencing method depends on the ground; in some cases, if it is stable, there is no need to use concrete, as Ancrofix anchors are sufficient, which are hammered into the soil (ground) and then the posts are inserted into them, on which the mesh is stretched. The situation is different in the case of a concrete screed.
– Step by step, it looks like this: We mark the places where the posts will stand (at a distance of 2.5 to 3 m). For each post, we dig holes (approx. 1.0 m deep) and set the posts (they should be 50 cm longer than the height of the mesh). It must be remembered that the mounting strip should be directed towards the outside of the plot. To the starting and ending post, we attach one support each, and to the corner posts, we attach two each. After that, we start filling the holes with a concrete mixture (semi-dry). After setting the posts, we wait for the concrete to dry. We start the fence installation from the first post, using Bekaclip clips and assembly pliers. We unroll the mesh from the starting post, further in the direction of the corner posts, and tension it. We attach the mesh using clips to the main posts, and then to the intermediate posts – explains Joanna Dec-Galuk.
