Presentation of companies in the automatic identification (AI) industry

The interest of enterprises in implementing organizational and technical solutions in the field of broadly understood automatic identification is a necessity in the current market, which is dynamically changing and subject to the processes of globalization, computerization, and increasing competition. This trend also has a purely economic dimension. Market demand for the discussed systems is reflected in the number of companies offering products in the field of AI. In 2002, the group of companies operating in Poland and declaring services and products in the area of broadly understood automatic identification (hardware and software) as their primary activity significantly exceeded 3,000.
The presented overview of companies that expressed interest in participating in our online survey aims to provide interested parties with the opportunity to familiarize themselves with their market offerings and to facilitate potential business contacts. In the questions addressed to our respondents, we focused on the issues of the products they offer in terms of customer service. Hence the questions about available reference lists and the possibility of reviewing them in case of a desire to establish cooperation (column 6 of the table), the average order fulfillment time for customers in 2002 (col. 5), or, for example, additional functions of the offered software (col. 13). In order to facilitate the selection of potential contractors, we tried to define the potential areas of specialization of the surveyed enterprises. Therefore, we asked for the identification of dominant customer groups (col. 8) along with an approximate percentage share in the total number of completed orders, although we are aware of a number of conditions that may have determined that the obtained structure does not fully reflect the company’s capabilities. We also include full address information, enabling direct contact and obtaining detailed information about the offered products. 26 companies took part in the study, 22 of which, presented below, completed the survey.
