New DHL terminal launched in Płock

DHL Express has launched a modern terminal in Płock. This is another investment by the company in the development of logistics infrastructure in Poland. The value of the investment amounted to over 2.5 million PLN.

The new terminal in Płock will be able to handle 7,500 shipments per day. The speed of the sorter, which is over 43 meters long, is 2,500 shipments per hour. The terminal has 7 gates equipped with hydraulic ramps, enabling the handling of trucks, and 17 gates for delivery vehicles to handle express courier shipments. The warehouse hall area covers nearly 1,100 square meters. Over 30 DHL Express employees and couriers are responsible for customer service.

The DHL terminal in Płock handles domestic and international shipments transported via both DHL’s road and air transport networks. A new building with modern technical equipment has now been put into operation, which has allowed for an increase in the efficiency of the logistics system and a significant growth in the volume of shipments transported daily in this region. Thanks to the modern technical equipment, the time shipments spend in the terminal has been reduced, thereby extending the “time window,” which is the time DHL Express couriers spend serving customers. A modern Customer Service Point also operates at the terminal.

– The dynamic development of the Polish express services market motivates us to continue investing in our logistics network, fleet, and IT infrastructure – said Tomasz Buraś, CEO of DHL Express (Poland) – We have been present in Płock for many years. Thanks to the opening of the new terminal, we will be able to ensure high-quality service for our customers in this region.

The commissioning of the new facility in Płock is the result of the consistently pursued development strategy of DHL Express. In 2006, 5 modern terminals were launched in Lublin, Siedlce, Piotrków, Piła, and Łódź. The cost of the latter investment alone amounted to over 4.5 million EUR.
