CMA CGM and Team Lines are now offering regular calls to DCT Gdansk, which began operations on June 1, 2007. Regular weekly calls mean broader opportunities for freight forwarders to transport containers to and from Poland.
CMA CGM, the world’s third-largest container shipping line, will call at Gdansk every Monday or Tuesday. This will be the Cape Fulmar (1400 TEU), connecting the Polish ports of Gdansk and Gdynia with Hamburg and Klaipeda as part of the FAS Baltic service.
Team Lines, a leading feeder vessel operator in the Baltic Sea, as part of increasing its commitment to the important Polish market, will also offer, starting this month, weekly calls of the Maris (508 TEU) vessel to DCT Gdansk. This will be a regular service to Hamburg and Bremerhaven.
– The fact that such distinguished operators as CMA CGM and Team Lines are committing to regular calls at DCT Gdansk is wonderful news. – says Fred Kamperman, CEO of DCT Gdansk, in a comment. – Shippers, freight forwarders, and the entire container transport industry can look forward to a favorable cargo route through the new terminal, which boasts state-of-the-art equipment and technology. Our vision for a fast and efficient Polish container port serving both short-sea and deep-sea vessels is becoming a reality.
DCT Gdansk is currently negotiating with other shipping lines to launch their services at the terminal.
