Motorola mobile computers at a French clothing retailer

Motorola and Timcod, one of the leading French integrators, have announced that Les Magasins Bleus, a company specializing in direct clothing sales, has decided to implement Motorola’s mobile solutions in its retail network. As part of the agreement, 400 Les Magasins Bleus sales representatives will be equipped with Motorola MC50 Enterprise Digital Assistant (EDA) devices, featuring credit card readers and connected to Zebra RW420 printers. The implementation process is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2007.

Motorola’s route accounting solution will help streamline inventory management, sales, and payment processing. Sales representatives will use the terminals to scan product barcodes, obtaining information on price and product availability. Thanks to the implemented solutions, Les Magasins Bleus merchants will also be able to finalize transactions and accept payments at the customer’s doorstep. The customer will receive a printed receipt, and in the case of card payments, also a bank confirmation.

Motorola’s devices, available with a special application developed by Timcod, offer intuitive operation, which translates into greater efficiency for mobile sales representatives and a reduction in errors. The new solutions also allow for cost reduction, especially in administrative and operational areas.
