TNT accelerates in Southeast Asia

TNT Express, a provider of express transport services for corporate clients, is introducing a fast transport service in Southeast Asia. As part of Emergency Express, urgent cargo – sent to overseas destinations – is dispatched on the first available flight connection. The delivery time is synchronized with the client’s schedule, and TNT provides constant service support. Emergency Express is available in all major cities in Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Japan, and Hong Kong.

TNT’s innovation comes at a time of increasing demand for faster transport services and the minimization of downtime. The latter phenomenon particularly affects the high-tech and aviation sectors, where the continuity of business processes is of key importance. Short transit times are also required for perishable laboratory samples sent by institutions in the biomedical sector.

– Services with a guaranteed delivery time are enjoying increasing popularity in Asia – last year, the number of goods transported in this way increased by 100 percent. The potential for Emergency Express is therefore enormous. It is also one of TNT’s key initiatives to achieve the goal of becoming an industry leader in emerging markets and growing in the region. – says Onno Boots, Managing Director of TNT – Southeast Asia region.

– For some sectors of the economy, tolerance for downtime is extremely low, as speed is the fundamental value. One of our largest clients – currently using Emergency Express – previously delegated as many as 150 people per month to flights with shipments. Flights across Asia were intended to deliver extremely urgent components for high-tech devices. For this reason, the entrepreneur incurred a cost of 2 million Singapore dollars per year. Meanwhile, the TNT service offers a service with analogous efficiency at a price lower by up to 50 percent. – says Onno Boots.

TNT has created a team of specialists dedicated to the Emergency Express service, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. When providing the service, the company does not use the existing network of connections, but provides an individualized system that allows choosing the first available flight. As a result, shipments transported under Emergency Express can reach any major city in Southeast Asia within 6-16 hours.
