Carlsberg Polska has introduced an innovative sales formula and is the first in the Polish FMCG market to decide to change its cooperation policy with distributors from an “ex-factory” system to a resale formula. The ECOD Distribution solution from Comarch, implemented at Carlsberg Polska, enables direct, electronic communication with business partners across the country.
– The first phase of the project has now been completed, the goal of which was fully automatic synchronization of strategic data on stocks and sales statistics throughout the entire Carlsberg Polska distribution channel. The ability to manage such information brings huge benefits to both the manufacturer and the distributor. As a rule, a manufacturer does not have good knowledge of its sales at the “bottom” of the distribution chain. It sees the interface with the distributor well, but beyond that, its knowledge is only estimates. What cannot be seen cannot be managed effectively. It can be said that in this sense, ECOD Distribution expands the horizon for both the manufacturer and the distributors. Where others only estimate, Carlsberg Polska and its distributors can measure very precisely. This has an obvious impact on sales effectiveness – explains Jacek Mikuś, Director of the Consulting Center at Comarch.
– During the 8 months of the main implementation phase, we completed nearly 350 connections. Imposing such a huge pace for the project was possible, among other things, because distributors easily saw the benefits of connecting to the platform. Especially since operating the system requires minimal effort from the distributor. The system sends and delivers information automatically, but with full control on the distributor’s side. Undoubtedly, the choice of Comarch as a partner for the implementation service had a significant impact on the high pace of implementation – says Agata Serwin, Customer Service and Logistics Development Manager at Carlsberg Polska.
The ECOD Distribution system is part of the ECOD Platform, which carries out broadly understood electronic communication with business partners in 13 European countries. ECOD Distribution for Carlsberg Polska is the largest integration project of this type conducted in Poland and includes integration with 450 entities. Due to the number of distributors connected to the system, the scope of integration, the amount of data processed, and the tightened SLA conditions, it is one of the most complex and innovative projects in the FMCG industry in Poland.
