On April 27th, a series of meetings with logistics, aimed at high school students, was inaugurated. The guests of the Institute of Logistics and Warehousing (ILiM) and the College of Logistics (WSL) were students and teachers from School Complex No. 5 in Wałbrzych.
During the several-hour meeting, the young logistics enthusiasts and their three supervisors: Sabina Zapała, Robert Rozmuski, and Paweł Andrzejczyk, listened to a lecture by the Chancellor of WSL, Dr. Eng. Ireneusz Fechner, titled “What is logistics”.
Next, the students visited the automatic identification laboratory, where work is being conducted on, among other things, the application of RFID technology. After the visit to the laboratory, classes were held aimed at demonstrating the functionality of WMS-class systems.
The next point was a meeting with employees of the ILiM Knowledge Dissemination Department. During the visit, the students had a unique opportunity to see how work on creating logistics textbooks and the “Logistyka” magazine is carried out.
The biggest attraction for the teachers and their students were two field trips to companies. The first one was aimed at showing logistics processes at the MANDERSLOOT company. The active and exhausting day concluded with a visit to the DHL sorting facility near Poznań. There, the young logistics enthusiasts were able to see up close the processes that take place inside a courier company.
