At the end of April, the Intelligent Transport Systems ITS Poland association was established. The main task of the association is to build a knowledge partnership in promoting intelligent transport systems as a means of improving transport operations, increasing its economic efficiency and safety, while taking into account environmental protection and economic benefits for Poland.
By design, ITS Poland will be an organization open to new member organizations, i.e., government and local government institutions, industry and services, research institutes, universities, and other organizations, as well as private individuals involved in ITS topics. The association’s activities are a response to market expectations. The group of founders of the association consists of authorities representing national transport circles, including representatives of research institutes, services, government organizations, transport associations, and academic centers. Dr. Eng. Marek Litwin was elected President of the association, Prof. Ryszard Krystek was appointed Chairman of the Supervisory Board, and Prof. Wojciech Suchorzewski was appointed Chairman of the Program Council.
