The transition from a producer’s market to a customer’s market has influenced the change in conditions under which enterprises produce and sell their products or services. Organizations operating on the market are forced not only to learn about current customer requirements but, above all, to anticipate their future needs. This applies not only to quality requirements but also to the way logistics processes are organized. In the article, the author presents the organization of warehouse management in commercial enterprises on the example of the Medical Supply Center CEZAL SA WROCŁAW.
Characteristics of CZM CEZAL SA WROCŁAW
The company’s beginnings date back to 1991, when the Medical Supply Center CEZAL SA began its operations in September. At the beginning of the second half of the 1990s, the company’s employees took actions aimed at transforming CZM CEZAL SA in Wrocław from a regional company into a nationwide corporation. The company’s strategy consisted of active participation (as a strategic investor) in the privatization of subsequent enterprises of the former “Cezal” network. In this way, the construction of the Cezal Wrocław Group began. By contributing capital and experience, the company carried out a thorough restructuring of the acquired enterprises, adapting them to the growing market requirements. Currently, the Cezal Wrocław Group is the largest company on the Polish market in the field of medical supplies.
The Cezal Wrocław Group consists of:
• Medical Supply Center “Cezal” SA Wrocław, which has a branch in Kraków and a subsidiary in Opole
• Veterinary and Medical Supply Center “Centrowet – Cezal” Sp. z o.o. in Poznań, which has branches in Słupsk and Gdańsk.
The Group also included the Medical Supply Enterprise “Cezal” in Słupsk, which, after privatization, was incorporated into the structures of CZM “Cezal” SA in Wrocław as a branch, and the Medical Supply Center “Cezal” Sp. z o.o. in Opole – which currently constitutes a subsidiary of the Wrocław company.
The Cezal Wrocław Group cooperates with over 650 suppliers from Poland and over 80 companies from 24 countries around the world. The Group is also a supplier of imported equipment for other wholesale buyers. The Group has a network of retail stores throughout the country.
