Logisticians’ Open Day

At the beginning of April, the Poznań School of Logistics began recruitment for the next academic year. Nearly 130 people attended the WSL Open Day on Saturday.

WSL invited candidates for 11:00 AM. The arriving guests were welcomed by the Rector of the University, Prof. Andrzej Korzeniowski. Immediately after him, the Chancellor of WSL, Assoc. Prof. Ireneusz Fechner, briefly presented the University’s activities. Next, the guests had the opportunity to learn about the specifics of the Institute of Logistics and Warehousing, which is the founder of the Poznań School of Logistics. After this information, it was time to present the recruitment process, the University’s scholarship system, and sports activities. There was also great interest in the discussion of cooperation with leading logistics companies and other universities, as well as the opportunity to obtain a double degree in logistics, which WSL offers as the only university in Poland. After this information, the guests had the opportunity to listen to a special lecture titled “What is logistics?”.

Concluding the official part, the Dean of the Faculty of Management and Logistics at WSL, Assoc. Prof. Zbyszko Pawlak, presented awards to the winners of the “Week with Logistics” competition organized on the air of one of the local radio stations. The winner, Marcin Piczman, who won the first year of studies at WSL, did not hide his joy:
– I am very happy, I have never won anything before. I will definitely come here to study – he said. The second-place winner, Monika Napiórkowska, was late for the award ceremony. She arrived breathless during the ceremony, fearing she would not make it in time to collect her trophy. However, everything ended well – the Dean presented her with a symbolic student ID book and a waiver of the tuition fee for the first semester of studies. Consolation prizes were also awarded – MP3 players and backpacks.

Thus enriched with knowledge and prizes, the prospective students began their tour. There was much to see, as booths were prepared by: the Career Office, which helps students find internships and jobs on a daily basis, the WSL Publishing House, and the ILiM. The University library and computer laboratories were also open to candidates, where they had the opportunity to see the application of the latest logistics software.

Logisticians' Open Day

During the event, the WSL Recruitment Office was officially opened, which already enrolled the first candidates for studies at the Poznań university during the Open Day. Of course, candidates still have to pass the matriculation exam to proceed further through the recruitment process. Nevertheless, applications to WSL are already coming in!
