The customer satisfaction survey for the TSL industry (conducted for the fourth time) shows the areas preferred by companies when choosing a partner in the transport, forwarding, and logistics industry. Most often, they expect transport services (nearly 80% of responses), forwarding services (nearly 70%), and courier services (60%) from their partners. Customs services (nearly 55%), warehousing (47%), and logistics (44%) are mentioned subsequently. Information services (nearly 11%) and financial services (over 7%) attract the least interest. The largest number of companies (25%) use 3 different services, or even 4 (20%). At the same time, the number of companies using only 1 service is at the level of 18%, and the number of companies using 5 services accounts for over 14% of all respondents. However, it should be noted that the definition of transport or forwarding services is changing, even though the same terms are still used. As the analysis of TSL companies shows, more and more of them are using IT systems, offering clients, among other things, the ability to send reports or track shipments online. Nevertheless, some of these companies still perceive themselves as carriers or forwarders and position themselves accordingly in the market. Logistics, on the other hand, is most often associated (especially in Western Europe) with the management of a client’s goods in a warehouse by an operator. The warehouse can belong to either the operator or the client. In Poland, the concept of non-warehousing logistics, based on a network of terminals (flow logistics), is common. This reduces the need to tie up capital and also enables the client to reach their customers quickly without incurring significant costs for storing goods.
Analysis of respondents
Less than 62% of companies answered the question regarding the share of their main TSL partner in their costs. Almost 18% of respondents stated that it does not exceed 2%, 13% of companies considered it to be at the level of 2.1 to 5%, and the same percentage stated it was between 5.1 and 10%. Less than 10% of companies estimate this share at over 20%.
