Microsoft has inaugurated the Microsoft Innovation Center in Łódź. The facility will specialize in meeting the needs of public administration, with a particular focus on local government administration in the field of information technology.
The task of the Microsoft Innovation Center in Łódź is to introduce modern ICT solutions in public administration, with a particular focus on local government units. As part of the Center’s activities, pilot programs for new IT solutions addressed to public administration will be conducted, as well as training in modern management concepts in the public sector and innovative IT solutions for administration employees and users of ICT solutions used in administration. The Center will also conduct research and research-development work to improve legal and organizational solutions regarding innovative methods of supporting the implementation of tasks by local government units. It will also support them in building – in accordance with the priorities of Poland and the European Union in this area – local concepts for the development of a modern society based on universal access to global knowledge resources. One of the first projects of the new Microsoft Innovation Center will be the creation of a platform for gathering, exchanging, and sharing knowledge, as well as supporting teamwork mechanisms. This is a fundamental element that will allow for the active commencement of the Microsoft Innovation Center’s objectives.
