MessageWay at Schenker

The Polish branch of Schenker has announced the selection of the MessageWay system as a tool for handling electronic data interchange in the scope of logistics services.

– In the supply chain management process, access to information in real-time plays a key role in making operational, tactical, and strategic decisions – said Przemysław Głębocki, Head of IT and Business Systems Development.

Schenker offers its clients a full package of IT solutions designed for the integration of business processes.
– Depending on the existing technological, process, or organizational conditions on the client’s side, we are able to offer an optimal integration method. In addition to classic EDI solutions, which usually require an appropriate level of technological advancement, the client has the option to choose the e-connect solution based on web technology or the SpedCust3000 software installed on the client’s computer – adds Przemysław Głębocki.

The implementation of the new B2B platform will allow for increased efficiency in the integration process with partners, and will raise the level of system availability, as well as other information security parameters such as confidentiality and data integrity.
– Ultimately, we chose the solution from the American company MessageWay Solutions Inc. In the case of most systems, the exchange of electronic files, at least in part of the processing cycle, is batch-oriented. However, the design of the MessageWay system, which is event-driven, allows us to process data files in real-time. We can, therefore, receive files, verify their correctness and content, convert the format, and finally feed data into our IT systems as part of one seamless process – explains Aleksander Lipowski, Business Systems Integration Coordinator at Schenker, responsible for the selection of the new system.

The MessageWay solution allows for full control over data flow and a very short waiting time for final information.
