Electronic Trade Support Platform – eTrade

The development of the information society creates a new type of environment for the modern economy, which fundamentally changes our lifestyle, learning, and work. The changes currently taking place, associated with the increasingly widespread use of information and communication technologies, favor the emergence of electronic markets and influence the transformation of the structure and functioning of enterprises. The emerging electronic economy is considered the most promising concept for economic development and gives companies an incredible opportunity to increase competitiveness, innovation, and efficiency in the market. It contributes to the dynamic development of the IT services sector, the development of new business models, innovative methods of work and trade, and thus, to the creation of new professions and jobs.
State policy sets priorities for the e-economy
The development of the electronic economy in highly developed countries is supported by state policy, which sets development priorities and seeks to accelerate the implementation of solutions that guarantee modernity and competitiveness. However, small and medium-sized enterprises do not have sufficient knowledge potential and capital to independently join the e-economy mainstream and thus reap its benefits. European Union countries actively support the participation of small and medium-sized enterprises in the global electronic economy by creating, for example, non-commercial solutions that facilitate the matching and cooperation of business partners on the e-business level. EU countries see the development of the e-economy as one of the key elements of the strategy to strengthen the position of the European economy in the world. The Polish government has also adopted a document – “Goals and directions for the development of the information society in Poland”, in which it defined tasks related to the growing use of information and communication technologies in the economy and other areas of social life. The program constitutes the implementation of the main goal: “Stimulating better use of information technologies”, defined in the document “ePoland – Action Plan for the development of the information society in Poland for the years 2001-2006”, adopted by the Council of Ministers on September 11, 2001.
