For seventeen years, CEZEX has specialized in the distribution of various types of paper, and for three years it has also been selling plastics. The assortment it sells consists of thousands of product codes. Customers need papers of various weights, formats, colors, or textures. The market in which we operate is not free from competition, which is why sales success is often determined by the speed of delivery and the ability to deliver even very small quantities of goods. The goods offered by the company are available throughout Poland, and sales offices are located in 13 strategic points of the country. Ensuring constant availability of all items from the permanent offer in these locations requires efficient management and good logistics solutions. The CEZEX logistics system operates based on a central warehouse in Piotrków Trybunalski and 13 local warehouses in major printing centers in Poland. The location of the central warehouse, which operates 24 hours a day in a three-shift system, near an important communication hub is an essential element of the customer logistics service system. The warehouse is located at a strategic point, just a few kilometers from the planned intersection of the north-south motorways. The storage area of the warehouse in Piotrków Trybunalski is 6,000 sqm, reaching a height of 6 m. By the end of 2006, the company plans to launch another central warehouse, dedicated to serving the northern regions of Poland. The newly built facility in Warsaw will contain 3,500 sqm of warehouse space with the possibility of storing goods up to a height of 10.5 m. The storage area of local warehouses ranges from several hundred to several thousand square meters. The central warehouse in Piotrków handles unloading and loading from level zero, while the new facility in Warsaw will enable transport handling from the truck bed level through a system of loading and unloading docks. As for warehouse processes, as in all such facilities, goods receiving and issuing operations are carried out, supported by an integrated ERP-class IT system. On a monthly basis, the central warehouse in Piotrków Trybunalski processes 700 receiving documents, while the number of issues from this warehouse ranges from 16,000 to 20,000 items per month. Goods from dozens of factories located in over a dozen countries around the world arrive here by road or rail transport. The central warehouse handles delivery unloading as well as loading to individual local warehouses.
