Virtual Entrepreneurship Incubator

The Virtual Entrepreneurship Incubator is designed as an online support system for enterprises intending to start operating in the electronic economy. The incubator will support enterprises according to their needs arising during the conduct of business activities in terms of access to IT infrastructure, electronic services, and knowledge. The main task of the incubator is to enable enterprises to access IT infrastructure that supports business
operations. Enterprises will gain access to electronic collaboration tools and platforms. The idea of this project is based on creating a virtual version of an entrepreneurship incubator that would provide, on preferential terms, electronic economy tools created under the 2003-2006 Program “Creating mechanisms and structures for the development of electronic commerce in Poland”. The mission of the virtual entrepreneurship incubator is to prepare enterprises for independent operation within the e-economy, and thereby help enterprises achieve maturity and the ability to function independently
in the electronic reality. The development of the Incubator will be focused on utilizing existing
internet resources and existing services created under the 2003-2006 Program. The Incubator, by combining useful information with appropriate functionalities in one integrated environment, will provide support to enterprises. Launching this venture will allow for significant improvement and standardization of business processes performed using electronic instruments. Information integration of existing e-economy solutions will create
conditions for increasing the speed, flexibility, and efficiency of information flow in the business activities of enterprises.
The organizational and functional concept is presented in the figure, which shows the place of the Incubator system in the electronic economy environment. It is easy to see that it acts as a central communication element between enterprises and other
systems providing services. Each of these systems exchanges information with the incubator, and access to these systems for the user is realized via the Internet.
