“Poland as Europe’s Warehouse” debate at the TAROPAK 2006 trade fair

The logistyka.net.pl portal invites you to the debate “Poland as Europe’s Warehouse. Are we attractive enough?”, organized as part of the TAROPAK 2006 International Packaging and Logistics Technology Salon.

The debate will take place on September 19, 2006, from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM, in Poznań, at the Poznań International Fair grounds, in pavilion 7, at the Institute of Logistics and Warehousing stand (no. 48), and it is organized by: “LOGISTYKA” magazine / ILiM and the Poznań International Fair.

The discussion will be moderated by Mr. Iwo Nowak – editor-in-chief of “LOGISTYKA” magazine, and invited participants include representatives from the following companies: SSI Schaeffer, Wandalex, DHL, Kuehne+Nagel, the National Warehouse Consortium (OKM), the Institute of Logistics and Warehousing, as well as exhibitors and guests of the TAROPAK 2006 trade fair, companies from the TSL industry, and journalists from logistics and economic press.

During the meeting, the following issues will be addressed:
1. Are there grounds for Poland to become Europe’s warehouse base?
2. Why has the process of creating new warehouse space only gained momentum in the last five years?
What opportunities have we lost forever, and what can we still fix?
3. What is the current situation (number of locations, size, functionality of warehouses and logistics centers), also in comparison with our neighbors?
4. Should we see the relocation of business activities beyond our eastern border as a threat to the further development of warehouse space?
5. Are we at risk of being flooded with used, worn-out equipment and warehouse infrastructure withdrawn from the “old EU” countries?
