Every fourth Pole with Internet access wants to use Internet telephony. Among them are 6 percent of people who already use it and 19 percent of those who are just considering trying this method of calling. This means that there are over 600,000 current and nearly 2 million potential users of Internet telephony in Poland. The main reason for using voice communication over the Internet is the price, which is competitive compared to other ways of calling. Switching to Internet telephony pays off for companies whose employees make a relatively large number of long-distance calls. Not just price The Poznań-based company Ogicom has been using Internet telephony for half a year. Its employees spend several hours a day on phone calls with clients and sales representatives. They quickly realized that voice communication via the Internet is much cheaper than traditional calling. And it is precisely because of the price that Internet telephony attracts more and more new users month by month. – The first thing we felt was free calls between our company’s branches, scattered all over the country. In the past, the cost of calls was a large financial burden for us. Thanks to Internet telephony, we also do not need a PBX. The company is developing dynamically, so the need to expand the PBX would be expensive – claims Bartek Mikołajczak from Ogicom. Switching to Internet telephony pays off for companies whose employees make a relatively large number of long-distance calls. Simulations show that a company that makes 240 hours of calls to mobile phones, 200 locally, 200 long-distance, and 60 to the USA per month will pay 130,000 PLN annually to TP SA and Plus. When the same calls are made over the Internet, it will pay about 90,000 PLN annually, which is 40,000 less. But for not all companies is the price of the service of fundamental importance. – As an innovative operator, we try to convince [clients] of the high functionality of such solutions and the benefits in the form of increased efficiency of operations and revenues, not just cost reduction. Thanks to good and efficient communication, you can really increase the company’s revenue. And this is what we draw our clients’ attention to – says Jakub Dwernicki from Inotel Innovative Telecommunications.
