The Internet is swarming with offers containing the word “accounting”. The number of addresses runs into the tens of thousands. In Jan Długosz’s time in Krakow, there were the most dentists. Now, surfing the Web, we get the conviction that we have a “glut” of accounting specialists along the Vistula.

“E-accounting” is somehow automatically associated with, for example, e-banking. The latter is the provision of banking services via the Internet for a specific group of clients. Does the first of these terms also mean accounting services on the Web? It is difficult to give an unambiguous answer. Dariusz Pawełczyk from the KATA Accounting Office in Siemianowice Śląskie – a company that operates on the Internet – maintains that it is possible to conduct a company’s entire accounting on the Web.
