Electronic tax settlements are no longer just a wishful thinking of taxpayers and the state administration, but a real prospect for the next 2 years. The Ministry of Finance has initiated organizational, legal, and IT activities aimed at providing entrepreneurs with online services that facilitate the fulfillment of tax obligations, and equipping the tax administration with modern information management tools that support the implementation of its statutory tasks.
e-Declarations Project
The e-Declarations IT system will utilize internet technologies and enable the transmission, storage, and processing of tax declarations and applications in electronic form, as well as provide access to tax information online.
–
There will be a new quality in taxpayer service, consisting, among other things, of facilitating taxpayer service, integrating taxpayer service through information provided in one place, and access to online information about the status of cases and the status of the settlement account. Taxpayers will gain the ability to quickly contact the Office electronically (applications, certificates, requests, etc.), the ability to fill out and submit e-declarations – electronic forms, as well as the ability to conduct electronic payments and stamp duties
– explains Grzegorz Fiuk, Acting Director of the Department for Informatization of the Ministry of Finance.
The primary goal of the project is to expand the information society infrastructure in our country to a level that enables entrepreneurs (and eventually all citizens) to effectively use the Internet and electronic public services. A system being built simultaneously
at the Ministry of Finance is the Central Register of Entities, based on the National Taxpayer Register, which will enable automatic exchange of information electronically between the Central Database of the tax administration and other state administration units.
–
The “e-Declarations” system will primarily accelerate the handling of cases, create savings in the company’s work mainly by reducing the number of people involved in document circulation: saving the working time of people who go to the post office, register correspondence, and eliminating stamp fees. Tax declarations will be able to be sent at any time of the day, and in case of incorrect filling, the process of their correction will be easier – says Jacek Świderski, co-owner of the o2.pl portal. – This system will also allow for integration with accounting systems, which will also significantly facilitate the work of companies.
As part of the e-Declarations system, a direct electronic communication channel will be launched between external entities
and the tax administration. Entrepreneurs will be able to provide the tax administration with all documents required by law in electronic form
and receive information and documents from the tax administration (within the scope specified by regulations) in this way as well.
