Schenker acquires BAX Global

The operation to incorporate BAX Global into Schenker AG is the implementation of an agreement that Deutsche Bahn AG signed at the beginning of November 2005. The agreement concerned the purchase of 100 percent of shares in BAX Global, headquartered in Irvine, California, in the United States. Thanks to this transaction, Schenker AG, operating within the DB Group, significantly strengthens its position in the global transport, forwarding, and logistics (TFL) market.

For Polish customers, this means new opportunities in the field of integrated logistics services and supply chain management. Polish companies will gain an expanded product offering and unlimited access to the global market across all industries. Schenker and BAX Global will be able to better meet the expectations of their business partners together, offering more efficient, high-quality solutions and building a competitive advantage for their clients in their global supply chain.

Benefits for customers:
– Better access to global markets, especially the US market
– Integrated logistics services by land, sea, and air from a single source
– Logistics solutions tailored to customer needs
– A reliable partner ensuring the security of shipments and information
– Ensuring high quality standards
– An offer adapted to diverse customer needs
– Logistics handling of oversized goods
– Competitive delivery times
– Efficient information flow
– Optimization of supply chain processes

Benefits for Schenker:
Thanks to BAX, Schenker will significantly strengthen its position in air freight and contract logistics.
– The Group will increase its presence in the North American market and in Asia. This is due to the fact that BAX, which manages global supply chains based on multimodal transport, holds a strong position in the US market and the Far East. And this opens up new opportunities for Polish companies – said Wojciech Puzyński, Head of the Air Freight Office at Schenker Sp. z o.o.
– On the other hand, existing BAX customers will gain direct access to all markets in Europe thanks to Schenker’s network of connections. It should also be noted that the customers of Schenker and BAX Global are independent groups, meaning they operate in separate industries and different markets, and if they overlap, it is to a very small extent. Therefore, the acquisition of BAX by Schenker is a joining of forces and customers – adds Piotr Kozłowski, Director of Sea and Air Freight at Schenker Sp. z o.o.

BAX Global is one of the three largest logistics companies in the United States and holds the top position there in terms of less-than-truckload (LTL) heavy cargo transport. BAX is a company operating in all parts of the world. It began its operations on the North American continent, where it mainly offered domestic transport and distribution for customers on transatlantic and Pacific Ocean routes.
