DHL’s largest Baltic logistics center

DHL has launched a new logistics center in Riga. It provides services for sending and delivering air shipments, including letters, parcels, pallets, as well as road and sea transport. DHL, as the first company on the Latvian logistics services market, will offer a full range of logistics services from a single source: from delivering cargo from abroad, through customs services, warehousing, packing and repacking, to delivery to the end recipient.

The opening of the new logistics center in Riga – the largest DHL center in the Baltic countries – means the ability to provide our domestic and foreign customers with comprehensive DHL services from a single source. Thanks to the center, we can now offer cross-docking, warehousing, contract logistics, and additional services for international transport – said Carl-Eric Lindstrom, head of DHL for the Baltic States.

The DHL logistics center facilities cover an area of 9,000 square meters. They include a sorting terminal, a warehouse with a customs clearance point, and administrative buildings with offices for 4 DHL divisions in Latvia: DHL Express (international parcel and express shipment forwarding), DHL Freight (international and domestic road transport), DHL Global Forwarding (air and sea transport), and DHL Exel Supply Chain (supply chain logistics services).

– The demand for comprehensive logistics services in Latvia is very high. We will be able to meet it thanks to the new DHL logistics center, which will not only significantly increase the available warehouse space but will also offer advanced, comprehensive cargo handling services. – said Romiel Kinber, head of DHL Latvia. – The center has been designed in such a way that it can double the scope of its operations, and combining all DHL divisions in one location will allow for offering the highest quality services.

The DHL logistics center in Latvia will employ over 140 people.
