A few days ago, the Polish Chamber of Information Technology and Telecommunications published an appeal to Polish deputies and senators for the fastest possible amendment of the Electronic Signature Act. The Chamber explains that the amendment is a priority in a situation where public administration is still bound by the deadline for implementing the signature by August of this year, established back in 2001.
In the appeal, the Chamber draws attention to a number of technical and legal problems in the currently applicable acts and regulations. They cause that, in practice, the implementation of the electronic signature in public administration by the set deadline is impossible.
