Eurinpro and DHL Exel Supply Chain companies have officially inaugurated the opening of a new warehouse built for DHL in Tiel, the Netherlands.
For the opening ceremony of the new warehouse, Eurinpro and DHL Exel Supply Chain invited two prominent figures from the world of logistics and fashion. Bert Keizer, Vice President of Retail at Cap Gemini, and Prof. Dr. Walther Ploos van Amstel (KMA, Breda) gave presentations on an efficient logistics network, which is part of the specialized solutions used in the clothing and lifestyle industry.
– Logistics has become an important part of our daily life. For example, at home, when a supplier delivers and assembles new furniture for us. In the supermarket, where we can buy everything we would like to eat that day. But everyone also knows the feeling when the product we want to buy is sold out and we have to wait for a new delivery – said Walther Ploos van Amstel.
The new DHL Exel warehouse will be primarily intended for transshipment, storage of goods, and value-added services in the clothing market. Eurinpro has created a “tailor-made” solution – strictly adapted to the requirements of this industry. Within the DHL Exel warehouse network, this one will play a key role between their domestic and international clients. That is precisely why it is located in the very center of the Netherlands. Tiel provides easy access to the industrialized Randstad area, the A15 motorway connecting Rotterdam with Nijmegen, and the airports in Amsterdam and Brussels. This strategic location has already attracted companies such as: Lidl, MOL-transport, Daalderop, Heuveltrans, Bergtrans, Chep, and Intergamma. The warehouse built by Eurinpro has an area of 18,549 sq. m., along with 1,260 sq. m. of office space on the mezzanine, of which 960 sq. m. remains vacant. It is possible to expand the facility to 60,000 sq. m. The warehouse has 40 loading docks, a clear height of 10.6 m, and a super-flat floor with a load capacity of 52 kN/sq. m.
