The long-awaited Dictionary of Logistics Terminology has just been published in the LOGISTICS LIBRARY series. This unique terminological compendium in the field of broadly understood logistics was prepared by the editorial team of the Institute of Logistics and Warehousing (ILiM) and the Poznan School of Logistics (WSL).
The publication comprehensively covers terms related to the organizational, technical, and strategic aspects of modern logistics. It describes phenomena that have emerged in the field in recent years. Readers will therefore find in the Dictionary many terms concerning the supply chain, Efficient Consumer Response (ECR), and other logistics strategies that have been intensively developed in recent years. A significant novelty is that the Dictionary also records terms related to future-oriented solutions dedicated to logistics, such as electronic catalogs, global data synchronization, or the Electronic Product Code (EPC).
Bearing in mind that logisticians often come into contact with the technique and technology of logistics processes in their daily activities, the editors of the Dictionary have introduced many terms from this area into the current edition. A separate part of this publication consists of the most important abbreviations of terms. To facilitate the use of the terminological compendium, a Polish-English glossary has been attached to it.
The Dictionary will be an exceptional item in the library of every logistician, both theorist and practitioner. The resources contained within it will also enrich the knowledge of all those interested in modern management. The Dictionary will also be reached for by journalists, translators, and representatives of other professional circles who encounter logistics terms in their work.
Media patronage over the book’s publication was provided by the logistyka.net.pl portal and the LOGISTYKA magazine.
