Toshiba’s Computer Systems Division has announced the opening of a representative office in Warsaw. The goal of opening the office is to meet the growing demand for portable computers.
Toshiba has been selling its notebooks and other computing solutions in Poland for over 15 years and will continue to cooperate with existing partners and distributors. This decision was made as part of the implementation of Toshiba’s marketing and sales strategy, and its goal is better cooperation with the sales channel, better knowledge of local markets, improvement of customer service quality, and increased awareness of Toshiba products.
– Toshiba’s decision marks a new milestone for this manufacturer in Poland. I must admit that I am very pleased with it. Opening a new office, supporting our business partners at a local level, is very beneficial for our customers – said Andrzej Kuźniak, General Manager of Sales for the Central Europe region at Toshiba Europe GmbH’s Computer Systems Division. – We work with proven, dedicated partners who have made significant investments, supporting Toshiba’s development, and we intend to continuously increase our local presence to become the leader in the portable computing solutions market in Poland in 2006.
The opening of the representative office strengthens the company’s commitment to developing the portable computer market in Poland. In the third quarter of 2005, the total value of the PC market in Poland increased by 33 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, while the notebook market grew by 176 percent in the same time. Toshiba is prepared to capitalize on this growth as part of its localization and distribution strategy, engaging all resources, people, and products necessary for the best possible customer service.
– Portable computing solutions and investments in new technologies in rapidly developing markets, such as Poland, are very important to us. We believe that Toshiba’s experience in the global computer industry and our partners’ knowledge of the local market will become factors in our success. This is reflected in our comprehensive and constantly evolving product range, extensive research and development programs, and the ability to quickly adapt to changing customer requirements – especially in terms of design, technology, and ease of use. By the end of this year, we intend to be among the top three largest PC notebook sellers, and our vision is to achieve the position of leader in this field in 2006 – announced Kuźniak.
Poland is a key market for Toshiba and an important area for implementing the plan to achieve a leading position in the portable computing solutions market. Over the coming months, Toshiba will finalize plans for further development in other Central European countries.
