GEFCO is introducing the GefBox system in Poland, an innovative, customized logistics solution for returnable packaging management.
The GefBox system covers a full range of material handling services. Manufacturers can outsource all or part of their packaging operations to the company, allowing them to focus entirely on their core business. The offer includes five service standards (FullPack, FleetPack, FlowPack, FreePack, FlexPack) that meet a full range of requirements. GEFCO experts assist manufacturers in developing and implementing “tailor-made” solutions to optimize the use of returnable packaging.
GefBox is a product primarily designed for the automotive market, which is already highly developed in Poland.
The task of the Supply department managing the GefBox system at GEFCO is to manage plastic crates, pallets, and containers intended for transporting industrial components directly to assembly lines; to supervise container flows: packaging rental, return of empty containers, flow management, and implementation of optimized delivery plans (planning, transport, plant supply, etc.); and to provide services for the handling and maintenance of the packaging pool: preparation, cleaning, and maintenance of packaging.
The GefBox System increases packaging availability, facilitates handling, and allows for freeing up space in the plant. At the same time, it ensures a high level of efficiency for customers. It also increases return on investment by creating opportunities for shared cost-bearing among different partners and optimizing the use of a shared packaging pool.
