Rules of the “Logistics Pen” Competition – 4th Edition
Topic: Any topic within the field of logistics.
1. The “Logistics Pen” Competition, hereinafter referred to as the Competition, is conducted by the Institute of Logistics and Warehousing, hereinafter referred to as ILiM, with its registered office in Poznań 61-755, ul. Estkowskiego 6, entered into the register of entrepreneurs kept by the District Court in Poznań under KRS number 0000052866.
2. A condition for participation in the Competition is the acceptance of the provisions of the Rules and the submission of an article for participation. The Competition Rules are available on the website www.logistyka.net.pl and at the ILiM headquarters.
3. Articles for the Competition can be submitted exclusively in electronic form from October 7, 2005, to November 6, 2005, to the address: michal.koralewski@ilim.poznan.pl or “Editorial Office of the portal www.logistyka.net.pl”, Institute of Logistics and Warehousing; ul. Estkowskiego 6; 61-755 Poznań, with the note “Competition Entry”. The date of submission is considered to be the postmark date or the date of receipt of the email.
4. It is required to send by mail or fax (061 852 63 76) a declaration with the following content: “I declare that I have read the rules of the 4th edition of the “Logistics Pen” Competition announced by the Institute of Logistics and Warehousing on October 7, 2005. I declare that I am the owner of the copyrights to the submitted work titled “Title”. In the event of winning the Competition, I undertake to transfer the economic copyrights to ILiM by way of a contract. I consent to the processing of my personal data in the database of Competition participants by ILiM with its registered office in Poznań, ul. Estkowskiego 6, and their processing in accordance with the provisions of the Personal Data Protection Act (Journal of Laws No. 133 of 1997, item 883, as amended) for the purpose of conducting the Competition. I have been informed that I have the right to access, correct, and delete my voluntarily provided personal data.”

5. The results will be published on the portal www.logistyka.net.pl on November 15, 2005.
6. The works will be evaluated by the Competition Committee appointed by ILiM, consisting of:
- chairman of the committee: dr inż. Aleksander Niemczyk – Head of the Logistics Knowledge Center, ILiM
- member of the committee: mgr inż. Jerzy Majewski – Deputy Head of the Logistics Knowledge Center, ILiM
- member of the committee: mgr Tomasz Janiak – Head of the Publishing Department, ILiM
The Organizer reserves the right to change the composition of the committee without giving a reason.
7. The works will be evaluated based on: the author’s own contribution to the development of the topic (new approach, observations, conclusions); connection of the content with logistics issues; value of the work for the practitioner Reader; value of the work for the theoretical Reader; topicality of the content; correctness of the terminology used; compliance of the content with the topic; stylistic correctness.
8. A condition for accepting the work is limiting its length to between 10,000 and 20,000 characters including spaces. It is possible to attach photos, tables, and charts. It is recommended to attach a short biography of the author and a photo. The content of the biography is not counted towards the length of the work.
9. The work submitted to the Competition cannot have been previously published in any electronic or printed medium.
10. The editorial office does not return submitted materials.
11. Any person who turns 18 by November 6, 2005, inclusive, may take part in the Competition.
12. Employees of ILiM and their immediate family members cannot take part in the Competition.
13. A Competition participant has the right to withdraw their work before the date of the announcement of the results.
To do this, they must submit a written statement withdrawing the work from the Competition.
14. The prize in the Competition is an author’s fee of 1000 PLN gross (one thousand zlotys) funded by ILiM, covering remuneration for the transfer of economic copyrights to ILiM.
15. The fee will be paid within 14 days from the moment the author delivers the signed contract for the transfer of copyrights to ILiM.
