On September 15th and 16th, the 2nd InLoC project public workshop is being held at the Institute of Logistics and Warehousing in Poznań. The primary aim of the workshop is to discuss the role of the public-private partnership formula in the implementation of projects related to the creation of logistics centers, as well as other logistics-related ventures. The workshop is organized by the Institute of Logistics and Warehousing, the Maritime Institute, and the Centre for Maritime Studies in Turku, Finland.
During the workshop, invited speakers will present the current status of initiatives for creating logistics centers in Poland and various public-private partnership solutions in European Union countries, with a particular focus on the issues of logistics centers in the Baltic Sea region countries.
The InLoC project (Integrating Logistics Centre Networks in the Baltic Sea Region) is implemented under the INTERREG III B program, which is an initiative of the European Regional Development Fund. The main goal of the program is to strengthen cross-border, interregional, and international cooperation. The project aims to improve the competitiveness and attractiveness of the region through international cooperation in spatial planning and the improvement of transport connections. The result of the InLoC project will be innovative cooperation between networks of enterprises operating in the field of transport and logistics. Consequently, the project will contribute to the development of sustainable transport connections in the Baltic region and to the optimal handling of freight transport.
Practical elements of this meeting will be of particular importance to the workshop participants. On September 15th, participants will visit the facilities and meet with the management of the Greater Poland Logistics Center in Konin. On the second day of the proceedings, they will take part in group work aimed at preparing a list of necessary changes in law, administration, and infrastructure required to overcome the identified barriers hindering the development of public logistics centers in the Baltic Sea region, and they will witness the presentation of European Logistics Association certificates to Polish logistics professionals.
