Symbol Technologies has introduced two new series of mobile computers: the MC9000 and the MC1000. The first series is equipped with speech recognition functionality.
The new MC9060-K and MC9060-S models were designed primarily for customers involved in warehousing and distribution – speech recognition features and voice-controlled applications allow for hands-free use of the devices, which increases work efficiency. Furthermore, the offered mobile computers enable real-time data capture in cooperation with corporate wireless communication systems.
The MC9060 computer with voice control is part of Symbol’s flagship mobile device platform. It provides enterprises with flexibility and reliability, offering an integrated barcode scanner and support for the 802.11b wireless local area network standard. This device is also highly durable – it can withstand a drop onto a concrete floor from a height of two meters.
The MC1000 mobile computer increases productivity and efficiency in retail, manufacturing, warehousing, and logistics enterprises. The MC1000 device enables data acquisition and numerical input required for inventory management, stock control, delivery confirmation, and other operations requiring a scanner. Potential end-users of this computer include retail clerks responsible for inventory management and order placement, warehouse and distribution company employees involved in shelf stock verification, replenishment, and cycle counting, as well as suppliers and drivers involved in mobile sales who require delivery confirmation. The MC1000 mobile computer features an option for easy memory expansion and wireless connectivity support, which does not increase operating costs if company requirements grow. The new Symbol device is also equipped with a high-quality laser scanning mechanism for data acquisition. The use of the Microsoft Windows CE operating system with its familiar and easy-to-use interface facilitates the use of the device, thereby increasing staff productivity and efficiency.
