The Wincanton headquarters in the UK has recognized the work of another Pole. Since June, Robert Chmielewski has been serving as the Regional Financial Controller for Wincanton Trans European in Central and Eastern Europe.
He is the next Polish manager to take on a regional position within the structures of this logistics operator. The Board’s decisions to appoint our countrymen to such responsible positions are not surprising, given the results of their work. Last year alone, the Polish branch of this company generated 60 percent of the turnover for the region covering Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Hungary.
Last year, the Wincanton Board entrusted Poles with very responsible functions. First, Ryszard Warzocha took the position of Managing Director of Wincanton Trans European for Central and Eastern Europe. Following him, two more people from the company’s Polish branch were appointed to director positions for the CEE region. Currently, Robert Chmielewski has become the Regional Financial Controller. His duties now include: managing finance departments in the region, supporting the Board, evaluating investments and managing risk, supervising the budgeting and reporting process for the entire region, standardizing internal control standards and procedures, and reporting to the Managing Director of Wincanton for Central and Eastern Europe and the Financial Director for Continental Europe.
