UPS increases air capacity in Poland

Due to the dynamic growth of UPS on the Polish market and increasing service needs, UPS has announced that it is replacing its Boeing B727-100QF aircraft, which operates between Cologne and Warsaw, with the B757-200F model. The new Boeing 757 will increase current transport capacity by approximately 20 tons.

The change took place immediately after UPS acquired the Polish courier company Messenger Service Stolica SA on May 4th of this year. Thanks to the acquisition of Stolica, UPS can now offer an even greater number of customers in Poland access to its extensive global delivery network and a wide range of international services. In the first quarter of 2005, UPS in Poland increased its export volume by nearly 25% compared to the same period last year.

“Thanks to the additional cargo capacity of the Boeing 757, flying to Poland five days a week, UPS is increasing its ability to serve companies of all sizes in terms of shipments to and from Poland,” says Krzysztof Zdziarski, General Manager of UPS Poland. “Poland is the largest economy in Central Europe, and its market has gained tremendous momentum.”
