Stolica acquired

UPS announced that on May 4, 2005, it completed the acquisition of Messenger Service Stolica SA, one of the companies in the express delivery market in Poland. The terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

– Stolica’s network and capabilities will further strengthen UPS’s ability to meet the needs of customers in a very dynamic and interesting European market – said Wolfgang Flick, President of UPS Europe. – Stolica’s services will soon be marketed under the UPS brand, and the combination of our service portfolios will create even better opportunities for UPS to support businesses of all sizes in meeting their needs related to shipping packages to, from, and within Poland – he added.

Stolica, headquartered in Warsaw, has been operating in Poland since 1993 and achieved revenues of 64 million USD in 2004. The company offers customers a full range of courier services, delivered through an extensive nationwide network, supported by advanced technology and experienced employees. This acquisition allows for the expansion of UPS’s strong and reliable delivery network in Poland and strengthens the company’s high-quality domestic offering in the largest economy of Central Europe, giving a much wider group of Polish customers access to UPS’s global delivery system and wide range of international services.
